record breaking one from the heart in 2008

We were blessed with spring-like conditions and Ricky Gates, of Boulder, bested 155 other participants on Saturday, March 1^st, 2008 to win the 12^th annual One from the Heart Buttermilk Uphill.  Gates’ time of 25 minutes, 33 seconds (with stabilizers), shattered the course record.  The first female was Devon Hutton, who competed in showshoes and posted a time of 37 minutes, 24 seconds.  This year’s event was held in honor of Challenge Aspen instructor Chris Bove, who lost his life on the eve of last year’s event.  It was also a fundraiser for Challenge Aspen and the Children’s Hospital of Denver immunodeficiency program.  Our thanks go to Mark Tye and the fabulous team of volunteers who made this year’s race a record-breaker!
