An Aspen summer is unlike any other…. The days are filled with sunshine, art, music and outdoor fun and the evening skies are packed with stars and night air cool enough to savor a toasty bonfire. Challenge Aspen has created summer camps for the music, art and dance enthusiast and the outdoor adventurer in your family. The weeklong camps provide the perfect setting, a knowledgeable staff and a safe, natural community where kids are free to create memories of their own to share with you at the end of a beautiful Colorado day.

Kids between the ages of 7 and 12 are invited to enjoy a week of art instruction, fishing, swimming, horseback riding and white-water rafting in Aspen during The Exceptional Artist’s Studio Camp.

The Exceptional Artist’s Studio is a weeklong workshop that introduces kids to the world of art in the morning and entertains them with fun outdoor activities (horseback riding, fishing, rafting and swimming) in the afternoon. The Challenge Aspen day-camp staff is trained and prepared to work (and play!) with kids who deal with almost any physical, sensory, emotional or behavioral challenge using a full-range of media and fine-tuned creative resources. The camp focuses on building self-esteem in an inspired, imaginative environment, offering a positive confidence-building experience.

Each child has the opportunity to feel a sense of creative success and achievement while experiencing Colorado outdoors adventures with their new friends.

Challenge Aspen Outdoor Adventure Camp provides a barrier free learning environment for kids with autism, encouraging self-expression and good old-fashioned adventure!

The Outdoor Adventure Camp Staff works one-on-one with children who need a little more help, incorporating them into small groups and creating unique experiences in the great Colorado outdoors. White-water rafting, hiking, swimming, scavenger hunting, indoor rock climbing, Jeep rides and gymnastics are all part of this great camp for special kids with special needs.

Aspen is the ultimate environment for art, music and dance and The Magic Of Music And Dance Camp gives kids with physical and mental challenges a turn to express themselves!

The Magic Of Music And Dance Camp provides the freedom and the stage for kids to explore music and music in their own way. There is one-on-one help when it’s needed and all students work each day to produce a group performance of their own, complete with staging, costumes, set design, dialogue and song and dance routines. The final ‘revue’ is open to the public and takes place on the last day of camp during the lunch hour.

Every morning in Aspen is packed full with rehearsals and each afternoon the kids are taken on a fun adventure with their new friends. The Magic Of Music And Dance afternoons are filled with horseback riding, white-water rafting, gymnastics and a host of activity. The kids even take a trip to a Western BBQ at the T Lazy 7 Ranch, where they’re served and serenaded by real Colorado cowboys…an Aspen favorite.
